My First Blog Post – What to Write?

I have been thinking about my First Blog Post on this blog for almost two days. I was a little worried and stressed out. I kept worrying about what to write. I have a very bad habit of being a perfectionist. I always like to do the things in a perfect way.
Since I have more than two years of experience, I had so many ideas in mind. Most experienced Bloggers would advice three types of First Blog Post.
- Introduction – Tell something about yourself and your blog. What readers can aspect from you? What is your experience in the field you are blogging? How is your blog different? And stuffs.
- Quality Post – Write a very awesome mind blowing article. Write something rarely none. Share a very useful information. Share your opinion about something. Your post need to be of good quality.
- Giveaways – Giveaway something (usually something costly, useful or popular) like e-books, softwares, memberships etc. for free. This thing is mostly done by marketing people. Its out of reach of any newbie.
I like the idea of ‘Introduction Post’ as it is short. But its for newbies. If I do the same thing it won’t feel good. Now ‘Quality Post’ would be a good idea for a blogger like me. But unless I drive good traffic to that post I will get low RIO (Return of Investment). Now about the third option ‘Giveaway’. Sorry but I am not some very big marketer and I do not have anything very valuable to give you.
Huh! I have discarded all the above three options. You must be imagining what type of post should be the First Blog Post. After thinking so much and stressing my mind (and after writing the above paragraphs) I came to a very unique conclusion. Before I tell you my conclusion just think for a few minutes what type of post you want your First Blog Post to be.

For the first post, I think Introduction would be good at least people know what niche that you’re going to cover in this blog. Also introduce a little bit about yourself would be good. That would be great if you attach a photo of yourself too.

Oops! You are second. Anyways I do agree Introduction post is a good idea but since bloggers also add About pages, I think introduction is not much necessary.
But I would surely advice others (especially newbies) to start their blog with a introduction post and keep it short.

well you can concentrate on the topic that you started the blog with the nice pillar post, because the introduction of about yourself can be given in the about page… so go ahead…all the best
