Make your Blog Mobile Ready
Does your blog need to be mobile ready? Hell Ya! Many people use their mobiles to browse Internet. The speed of mobile Internet is increasing. New mobile apps (browsers) for web surfing are coming out. People love to visit blogs, news sites on go. Want more?
Here is what my stats say – 2% of your traffic is currently from mobile users.
Now my blog is very new and yet people are visiting my blog from their mobile phones. Would you like to loose those readers? Would you not like to make their visit a pleasure?
Then Make Your Blog Mobile Ready.
But why, mobile browsers can display XHTML site. Ya but it takes time to load + your blog won’t fit in the small screen of mobile + its not very comfortable (by experience).
So what to do. Install, WordPress plugin which make your blog viewable on mobile phones. The best I can think of is WordPress Mobile Pack. I am using it myself. It is the most complete solution. You get theme switcher, you can decide which widgets to display, you have analytics and lot more. My blog is mobile ready now.
Try visiting my blog from your mobile or you can click Switch to our mobile site at the bottom of the sidebars (remember to click Switch to our desktop site when you want to see the original blog).
So how does this blog look in your mobile? Is it better than viewing XHTML version? Is your blog Mobile ready? If yes what plugin/service you use. If not, you stupid fellow, do not just look at my face, take action, go and install WordPress Mobile Pack.

I’m wondering whether it will automatically switch to mobile ready while people using Mobile? Or they still need to click the link to switch to Mobile.

I think so. I am yet to try out (my mobile Internet is not working). But I have tried using mobile simulators. They show the mobile version.

Yes it automatically loads the page in mobile view. Although with Opera Mini I prefer viewing the full site, and luckily this plugin allows you to switch to the full site. I think its nice.

Wow, never saw what mobile looked like on a computer before. How old does that make me sound and I’m only 22!
Anyway, I’ll take a good look at this plugin, thanks.

Hey, we have created a tool that can make any blog mobile (so not just WordPress). It’s to be found at flurp.siruna.com.
We are still improving as we go, so we are happy to receive feedback!
